Vast Space is positioning itself as a disruptive force in the emerging commercial space station market, racing to deploy Haven-1, what could become the world’s first privately developed and operated space station by May 2026. Founded in 2021 by cryptocurrency entrepreneur Jed McCaleb, the Long Beach, California-based company has adopted an aggressive timeline strategy to outpace better-funded competitors in the race to replace the International Space Station and secure critical NASA Commercial LEO Destinations program contracts.
