Satlyt specializes in edge computing software that allows satellites to process data in orbit – reducing reliance on ground stations, enhancing storage and processing capabilities, and enabling faster, more secure operations. As in-space computing advances, power demands have become a critical bottleneck.
Recognizing this challenge, Star Catcher and Satlyt are combining forces to deliver a bundled solution. By pairing Satlyt’s edge computing solutions with dedicated, on-demand energy from Star Catcher’s orbital power network — the Star Catcher Network — customers can significantly increase computing capabilities and data transfer availability compared to what would be possible with onboard power budgets.
Unlike traditional satellite architectures, which often require costly hardware upgrades to support more demanding operations, the combined offering taps into Star Catcher’s space-to-space energy beaming service — transmitting concentrated solar energy directly to satellites’ existing solar arrays with no major spacecraft modifications required. This flexible augmentation approach allows operators to expand computational and mission performance as needed and allows existing spacecraft to increase their capabilities.
