Telesat: Supply-Chain Issues Hit Lightspeed Constellation
Telesat’s Lightspeed constellation of broadband satellites will be delayed following component shortages reported by proposed prime contractor Thales Alenia Space, which cited the global supply-chain bottlenecks.
Canada-based Telesat said it was in talks with France and Italy-based Thales Alenia Space on how to minimize the delays and whether the extra time should be used to optimize Lightspeed’s performance.
