Satellite Companies Join Forces for Military Communications
Partnership Targets Multi-Orbit Terminal Integration for Defense Users
Two satellite communication companies have signed a memorandum of understanding to integrate advanced terminals with a low Earth orbit network. ALL.SPACE will work with Telesat Government Solutions to ensure its multi-orbit terminals can access the Telesat Lightspeed network when services begin in late 2027.
"The combination of our secure, advanced Telesat Lightspeed services and innovative ALL.SPACE terminals will increase operational advantage for the DoD in the digital battlespace."

The collaboration focuses on integrating ALL.SPACE user terminals with the Telesat Lightspeed Low Earth Orbit network. Telesat Government Solutions, a subsidiary of Telesat, will provide detailed network interface specifications to help develop ALL.SPACE multi-orbit, electronically steered terminals.
The companies plan joint customer evaluations and field demonstrations using Telesat's LEO 3 demonstration satellite. This work aims to ensure ALL.SPACE terminals achieve type certification and full operation when Telesat Lightspeed services launch.
Development efforts will include the ALL.SPACE Hydra-2 MAX terminal, which maintains two simultaneous satellite connections with commercial and military Ka-band spacecraft across geostationary, medium Earth orbit and low Earth orbit positions. The collaboration also covers the advanced Hydra-4 MAX MilSatCom terminal that connects to four satellites simultaneously by combining a Hydra-2 MAX terminal, a Ku-band terminal and a global L-band antenna in a single chassis.

The partnership ensures that Hydra 2 and Hydra 4 terminals currently deployed, including those delivered to the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army, can access Telesat Lightspeed services in the future.
"The combination of our secure, advanced Telesat Lightspeed services and innovative ALL.SPACE terminals will increase operational advantage for the DoD in the digital battlespace," said Chuck Cynamon, president of Telesat Government Solutions.
Paul McCarter, chief executive of ALL.SPACE, said the collaboration marks a significant step forward for resilient global connectivity. "Integrating our field-proven Hydra terminals with the advanced Telesat Lightspeed LEO capabilities will give government and defense users a critical operational edge – enabling seamless, secure, and scalable communications across every domain," McCarter said.
Our Take
This partnership addresses growing military demand for resilient satellite communications that can operate across multiple orbits and networks. As defense operations increasingly rely on secure, continuous connectivity in contested environments, multi-orbit terminals provide backup options if one network fails.
The integration also prepares existing military terminals for future low Earth orbit services, protecting current investments while enabling access to faster, lower-latency satellite networks expected to launch in 2027.
