Partnership Will Bring Hyperspectral Data to Users Worldwide
UP42 Users Are Now Able to Access Pixxel 5 Meter Resolution Imagery
A partnership today making data from the Pixxel Firefly constellation available to UP42’s global customer base has been announced. Under the agreement, end users of UP42 will be able to order 5 meter (≈16-foot) resolution hyperspectral imagery from Pixxel’s six-satellite Firefly constellation, covering 135+ spectral bands with a 40 km (≈25 mile) swath width.
“Pixxel’s Firefly constellation brings a powerful new hyperspectral data source to UP42.”
Jussi Koski, UP42
Pixxel’s hyperspectral imagery unlocks a new dimension of analysis for Earth observation, offering the ability to detect subtle signals and granular insights invisible to conventional multispectral sensors. Pixxel’s data will support various applications in agriculture, climate, and forestry, from identifying crop stress before it’s visible to soil analysis and environmental monitoring.
“UP42 has created one of the most dynamic ecosystems in the Earth observation industry,” said Awais Ahmed, Founder and CEO, Pixxel. “Being a part of their platform will open up our hyperspectral imagery to a global community. We look forward to joining the impressive roster of constellations on their platform and enabling innovators everywhere to integrate a richer layer of Earth data into their solutions.”
“Pixxel’s Firefly constellation brings a powerful new hyperspectral data source to UP42,” said Jussi Koski, CPO of UP42. “Our users will have the ability to order fresh imagery from Pixxel. We’re excited to see how their constellation and capabilities will expand over the course of our partnership.”
This collaboration marks a significant step towards Pixxel’s vision of making hyperspectral imaging a mainstream tool for understanding and improving life on Earth. By joining UP42’s ecosystem, Pixxel is expanding the reach of its Firefly constellation to a global network of innovators addressing critical challenges across various industries and geographies.
