Orbital Research Joins the Satellite Industry Association
The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) recently announced that satellite communications (SATCOM) frequency conversion and RF product manufacturer Orbital Research is the newest affiliate member of SIA.
“Orbital Research’s products are designed to provide SATCOM companies with the ability to deliver increased connectivity and data throughput via more efficient use of valuable and limited RF spectrum. This makes them an ideal addition to SIA.”
Tom Stroup, president of the Satellite Industry Association.
Earlier this year, Orbital Research announced the launch of a new wideband Ka-Band Low Noise Block Downconverter (LNB) with ultra-low phase noise reduction. This new product was developed in response to satellite industry demands for low phase noise converters which will allow operators to increase throughput and reduce bit error rate (BER) – making SATCOM systems more efficient by optimizing expensive satellite bandwidth.
“On behalf of SIA, I am pleased to welcome Orbital Research as the latest member to join the Association,” said Tom Stroup, president of the Satellite Industry Association. “Orbital Research’s products are designed to provide SATCOM companies with the ability to deliver increased connectivity and data throughput via more efficient use of valuable and limited RF spectrum. This makes them an ideal addition to SIA.”
“SIA’s role in advocating for industry is critical, especially as we face unprecedented growth,” noted Ian McEachern, President and CEO of Orbital Research. “Topics like cybersecurity, space commerce, earth observation and spectrum management will take skill and effort to navigate. We are pleased to be part of an organization working to support the industry.”
Affiliate membership in SIA is open to satellite companies as well as supporting entities that advocate and promote the domestic commercial satellite industry. SIA Affiliate Members receive a number of benefits including attendance at SIA’s Annual Association Meeting, participation in all open SIA meetings and most events (excluding the SIA Leadership Dinner) and SIA Member discounts to industry events.
SIA is a U.S.-based trade association providing representation of the leading satellite operators, service providers, manufacturers, launch services providers, and ground equipment suppliers. For more than two decades, SIA has advocated on behalf of the U.S. satellite industry on policy, regulatory, and legislative issues affecting the satellite business.
