Network Demand Drives $70 Million Funding Round for Small GEO Satellite Manufacturer
Series C Will Support Production Ramp for HummingSat and Multi-Orbit Payloads
SWISSto12 has closed a $70 million Series C funding round to expand manufacturing of its small geostationary satellites and multi-orbit payloads amid rising demand from commercial and government customers.
“The financial picture at SWISSto12 is robust and primed for global growth.”

The Swiss satellite and payload manufacturer said the equity raise follows a period of rapid growth, including 2025 revenue of $140 million and more than $500 million in contracted orders. The company reported a 110 percent compound annual growth rate since 2022, with seven geostationary HummingSat spacecraft sold to operators including SES and Viasat and more than 2,000 HummingLink payload and antenna solutions now operating in orbit.
The Series C announcement came after member states of the European Space Agency approved $84.8 million in funding for the HummingSat ARTES partnership project, which supports development and in-orbit validation of the GEO platform.
Fredrik Gustavsson, chief financial and strategy officer at SWISSto12, said the company is using the new capital to scale an existing commercial business rather than to fund early-stage development.
“The financial picture at SWISSto12 is robust and primed for global growth. $140 million in revenue for 2025, more than $500 million in customer contracts, and a 110% compound annual growth rate since 2022,” Gustavsson said in the announcement. “These are the signals of an agile business, deploying capital efficiently, and operating at scale in a fast-growing industry. This Series C accelerates us further to meet strong demand from a space, satellite and telecommunications market that’s evolving and growing at pace.”
Chief executive and founder Emile de Rijk framed the funding round as a response to customer programs that span multiple orbital regimes and mission types.
“Space is increasingly recognized as essential infrastructure for the global economy,” said SWISSto12 CEO Emile de Rijk. “In this expanding market, our solutions across payload and satellite lines are creating significant new opportunities for customers. Our products are supporting exciting new customer missions—from direct-to-device connectivity to media broadcasting, intersatellite data relays or sovereign communications infrastructure—many of which span multiple orbits. This Series C funding round accelerates our ability to execute on this growing demand across any payload, any platform and any orbit.”
SWISSto12 plans to use the new equity to increase production and integration capacity across its two main product lines: HummingLink multi-orbit payload and antenna systems, and HummingSat, its compact GEO satellite bus. Company officials said demand is coming from both commercial operators and sovereign government customers in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
SWISSto12 uses proprietary manufacturing and design techniques, including 3D printing, to produce integrated radiofrequency payload hardware that can fly as hosted payloads or on the company’s own satellites.
Founded in 2011, SWISSto12 is currently building payloads for several low Earth orbit constellations and seven HummingSat platforms.
