An agreement, signed during a visit by Uzbekistan Minister of Technologies Sherzod Shermatov’s to the United States outlines a commitment by Vast and the Ministry of Technologies to explore steps to strengthen cooperation and increase the participation of Uzbek specialists in international spaceflight programs and orbital technology projects.
Potential work together includes Uzbekistan’s participation in joint scientific research, personnel exchange programs, and the involvement of Uzbek specialists in upcoming missions to Haven-1. The partnership could also include engaging Uzbek scientists and engineers for research on artificial gravity, life support systems, and orbital architecture for Haven-2, the proposed successor to the International Space Station.
“We’re excited to collaborate with the Ministry of Digital Technologies to explore new ways for Uzbekistan to be involved in advancing commercial human spaceflight, science, research, and technology in orbit,” said Max Haot, CEO of Vast.
A second MoU between Vast and the Agencia Espacial de Colombia (AEC), a private agency responsible for the execution of Colombia’s space program, will make it possible for them to explore cooperation in science, technology, education, and human spaceflight.
This agreement marks a strategic milestone in Latin America’s integration into the global space economy. Through this MOU, AEC will partner with Vast to explore scientific research and payload development by Colombian universities and research centers, educational and outreach programs through AEC’s flagship “Aprendiendo con Galileo” initiative, designed to inspire young generations in STEAM fields, and industry engagement, connecting Colombia’s emerging aerospace and technology sectors with the international supply chain supporting orbital infrastructure.
Both organizations intend to work together to identify joint initiatives that leverage Vast’s spacecraft, including Haven-1, scheduled to be the world’s first commercial space station, with AEC’s growing ecosystem of data analytics, connectivity, and science education programs.
Vast also holds agreements with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Digital Technologies, the Czech Ministry of Transportation, and the European Space Agency (ESA).
Vast continues its rapid progress towards launching Haven-1 with recent milestones including the successful mission of Haven Demo, an in-orbit testbed for space station technologies. The company also holds agreements with the Czech Ministry of Transportation and the European Space Agency (ESA) to explore opportunities for European countries to access space through Vast space stations.
