President Trump has withdrawn his nomination of Jared Isaacman to be the next Administrator of NASA.
"I will soon announce a new Nominee who will be Mission aligned, and put America First in Space."
President Donald Trump
The announcement came in a posting on Truth Social. "After a thorough review of prior associations, I am hereby withdrawing the nomination of Jared Isaacman to head NASA. I will soon announce a new Nominee who will be Mission aligned, and put America First in Space. Thank you for your attention to this matter!," Trump posted on his social media site.
The "prior associations" Trump mentioned were not specified.
Isaacman had financed and commanded two flights on SpaceX spacecraft, and had more in the pipeline before he was tapped for the post. His nomination had cleared the relevant Senate committees and was expected to be voted on by the full Senate as early as this coming week.
There was no indication as to who might next be nominated to lead the space agency, which is currently under the direction of Acting Administrator Janet Petro.
