The concept of solar-powered orbital AI data centers actualy highlights somthing fundamental about how satellite constellation architectures are evolving beyond pure connectivity. What strikes me is how the continous solar harvesting in LEO eliminates the power-cycle constraints that usualy limit terrestrial data center operations. The thermal managment challenge you mention—naturally cooling compute payloads in the vacuum of space—esentially inverts the traditional datacenter cooling problem. This could potentialy reshape how we think about distributed computing infrastructure, especialy when latency-sensitive AI inference needs to happen closer to global edge locations rather than centralized cloud regions.
