ESIP Strategic Framework Created by REI in 2022
In 2022, REI created and maintained ESIP’s Strategic Framework, which included launching initiatives such as its Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Roadmap.
“It has been our privilege to support the ESIP journey to date and we are excited for the opportunity to meet the needs of today while serving as a trusted partner to build for tomorrow,” said Indunil Ranaviraja, Senior Director of Advisory Services for REI Systems.
ESIP advances 700+ projects annually across technology readiness levels and its innovator communities – committed to leading the research and development of disruptive aerospace capabilities. The goal of Early Stage Innovations (ESI) is to accelerate the development of groundbreaking, high-risk/high-payoff space technologies to support the future space science and exploration needs of NASA, other government agencies, and the commercial space sector.
Awards result from successful proposals to the ESI Appendix to the SpaceTech-REDDI NASA Research Announcement. The ESI Appendix is expected to be released annually and will feature specific topics. Accredited U.S. universities are eligible to submit proposals; teaming and collaboration are permitted as specified in the Appendix. Awards are expected to be a maximum of two years, and the total award value may not exceed 500K.
