The awards extend Gilat Defense’s growing base of U.S. defense work and highlight how combined service and hardware offerings are shaping battlefield communications architectures. The company said deliveries under the new orders are expected within 12 months.
According to the announcement, the contracts reflect continued and expanding confidence in Gilat Defense’s ability to provide mission-critical services and communications systems engineered to perform “when it matters most” in operational environments.
The custom terminals are designed for reliability in demanding field conditions, with ruggedized construction and advanced multi-orbit operability tailored to specific military requirements. The equipment is intended to maintain resilient connectivity across a wide range of battlefield scenarios while supporting dynamic communications needs of defense units deployed in the field.
Gilat Defense said the dynamic capabilities of the systems allow defense organizations to access trusted satellite communications services where terrestrial networks may be degraded, contested or unavailable. The terminals and associated services are part of a broader portfolio aimed at integrating satellite connectivity into mission planning and execution.
“These awards reflect the U.S. Department of War’s continued confidence in Gilat Defense’s ability to deliver reliable services and purpose-built SATCOM solutions for mission-critical defense operations,” said Nicole Robinson, president of Gilat DataPath. “We are proud to support the Department’s operational communications needs and to continue expanding Gilat Defense’s role as a trusted partner to U.S. defense customers.”
The latest orders follow previous U.S. defense activity for Gilat Defense, adding volume to an existing footprint in military communications support. The company framed the new work as part of a longer-term relationship with U.S. defense customers seeking resilient, multi-orbit connectivity options.
