Led by CNES, this tender initiative focuses on propulsion capabilities crucial for satellite maneuvering, deorbiting, and extended mission applications. Dawn Aerospace will collaborate in this first phase with CNES to review key system specifications and verify the capacity of nitrous-oxide-based propulsion solutions to align with France’s strategic objectives for leading-edge space technologies. This tender has also supported the continued staffing of Dawn’s offices at the B612 Innovation Hub in Toulouse.
“This opportunity to work closely with CNES highlights the immense value of green propulsion technologies for space,” said Jeroen Wink, Co-founder and CRO at Dawn Aerospace. “We’re fully committed to supporting CNES’s goals for innovation, growth, resilience, and security.”
“We are paving the way for the integration of non-toxic chemical propulsion solutions on French satellite assets,” a representative of CNES stated. “This remarkable effort will allow us to develop an ecosystem tackling the new, upcoming challenges that in-space propulsion will face in the next decades.”
