AFWERX Awards Phase I SBIR Contract to Firehawk Aerospace
Will Support Company's Development of Rocket Engines
AFWERX has awarded an SBIR Phase I contract to Firehawk Aerospace focused on the development of Solid Rocket Motors (SRM) and Hybrid Rocket Engines to address the most pressing challenges in the Department of the Air Force (DAF).

The Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) process by accelerating the small business experience through faster proposal to award timelines, changing the pool of potential applicants by expanding opportunities to small business and eliminating bureaucratic overhead by continually implementing process improvement changes in contract execution.
Firehawk Aerospace remains dedicated to solving the supply chain problems that plague the propulsion industry, and this SBIR Phase I award will help accelerate their mission as they work towards a solution.
